Do I want Virgo wheels?
Currently have a very stock 87 saloon sporting original steelies and covers with new rubber all around. Tyres will probably age rather than wear out given my annual mileage, so no urgency to replace.
Given that every second 240 left on the roads seems to have been retrofitted with virgos, do I want to grab a set now before prices go through the stratosphere, or conversely wait until the supply of virgos exceeds the market of surviving 240s and grab them dirt cheap? And do I even want alloys...? Your thoughts on Virgos and other 240 alloys would be appreciated. |

The only alloys that look ok are those fitted to Torslandas, the wire wheell effect ones. All else look silly on this type 'o car.
Now, that is MY opinion. Only you can say what you think will look nice. Like Virgos? Great, buy a set! Cheers. |

All very subjective:~
Vergo seem to be more in demand in a relatively short space of time, I gave £70:00 for five maybe 2/3 years back (some good tyres as well-one is a descent spare now) They are an unusual attractive design and original to the cars if that is valued. Thanks, I had the idea they were considerably pricier than a few years ago, although no less available, it appears.
My interest was in mirror polishing a set of alloys for 'best', and the large wide inside rim/chunky spokes of the virgos would lend itself to that better than an intricate spoked design. |

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165399916...oAAOSwQNZiPI~z ... and that is just for four wheels, albeit with tyres. Here is another set (without tyres) for £600: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393999883...BoCpsoQAvD_BwE The price increase is just a manifestation of demand exceeding supply of course. The Virgo wheels do suit the 200 series well; I have them on the RB and they look very nice. I don't think the OP is serious :-). Alan

What about Auriga alloys from a 940? I tried looking on Google images for a 240 with Auriga alloys and didn't find anything, I think they would look great as they're my favourite OEM wheel.

I may well look at other Volvo RWD designs suitable for polishing, although when the price starts approaching a monkey for a set of four used, I start looking at Borbet and Ocean wheels, new for similar money (and no refurb required). Car has steelies for originality so I'm less fussed about using date-correct or OEM models, within reason.
