Default V70 hazard lights problem

I have a strange problem with my 1998 V70. Several times I have parked in bright sunlight & returned to find the hazards flashing. Anyone heard of this before?

Is it an auto ? I know I often accidentley activate mine when putting the gear selector in 'park' position as the button is in an awkward place !! Just a thought....

The heat hasn't triggered the alarm has it? Check the little red LED on the dash when you next return to the car to find hazards going.

Do you have to click the hazards button to turn them off (which would indicate the above - knocking it when selecting a gear/park) or do they turn off when you unlock the car? (eg with the fob)

Hi Stuart,Does your Alarm siren not sound as well as the indicators going?.
My alarm sounder doesent work, cant seem to find out why as it has a new battery pack fitted.Anyway, if your car is the same as mine it could be something as simple as a fly in the car.Mine started flashing in the middle of the night the other week,in the morning i found i had left the window down a bit and i reckon a fly had got in and triggered the motion sensors inside the car, setting of the Alarm, which in my case has no siren.Just a thought.

if i leave the vents open my alarm goes off after about 1 hour! i did read the owners manual and apparently if you turn the key in the door so it locks and hold it for 3 secounds that swithces off the motion sensors it will then unlock and you then lock as normal. even though it doesnt work on mine

High Dominic,Thats the sort of setting you would use to say, go on a ferry,or leave a dog in the car,but still alarm it.My car is suposed to have this feature but i have to say i have never tryed it.Will try it out and see if it works on my V70, and or if it alters the status of the Sounder Siren,it may well do so..I will let you know.
