Default Compressor part no.?

Hi folks can anyone furnish me with the part number for the aircon compressor on my 2005 1.8 (Ford/Mazda 4 pot) S40? I think it could be 3M5H-19D629-KE but I'm having real trouble confirming this.

Cheers.

I'd be interested to know too as whilst mine still works it's drawing a serious amount of power making a very odd sound and could well be on it's way out, you have my sympathy as it ain't cheap unless you go the breakers route but then the replacement may not last long.

If no reply I'd give FRF Swansea (or another recommended parts dealer on here) a ring to try to find it as I agree it really is hard to confirm online.

I changed mine recently, same story it was clicking-in with a massive thud and sounding grumbly, it was running hot and affecting the drive belt too. I had a specialist locate a new compressor using my reg number. Cost me £350.00 for the part.

We found out that Volvo used a variety of compressors, mine was a Zexel model with Ford Motor Company stamped on it but the replacement we found was a Valeo unit. Bit of a parts bin lottery I think. To be honest as long as the compressor has the correct pulley(s) and pipe connections it doesn't really matter who makes it.

By the way even a Volvo dealer will only sell a re-manufactured unit (service exchange) you can no longer buy brand-new it seems. I think I was quoted about £450.00 by a dealer.

What engine was that - I guess one of the petrols if it had Ford on as the 1.8/2.0 are Ford/Mazda lumps.
