Lightbulb Low beam bulb failure, but still working.

Hi All,

I'm getting the Low beam bulb failure message. However, both bulbs are working fine. It has the Bi-xenons and I wondered if anyone knew what else could be causing that error message?

One thing of note is that about 5 days before this started, I had the classic sunroof leak again on the passenger side, which I have since fixed. So I'm not sure if the water may have caused it. The carpet was wet, but dried within a couple of days.

Any ideas would be much appriciated.

Thanks

Will

Could be simply slightly high resistance due dirty contacts try removing connector and clean with contact cleaner

Could be the sensors for ABL/Level or the motors (inside the headlight) that move them. Likely you will find the lights to be in safe mode, pointed at the lowest height and straight ahead, which might not give the best performance. A shop with DiCE/VIDA could tell you exactly what the problem is.

Usually it is only heater-are leaks (onto the fusebox/CEM) that can affect headlight errors, so it is not likely that a sunroof leak is causing your issue.
