Default 17" Polaris alloys availble for 200/700/900 on the Continent

Evening all

Willem (aka Wart) PM'd me this evening to discuss a few things and mentioned the following. It may be of interest to some:

"One is that I noticed there is an interest among 200/700 and also 900 drivers for the Polaris alloy wheel. The only 17 inch wheel Volvo developed for the Rear wheel driven generation as far as I know.

They were rare and in some countries they still are. I saw that these rims (new and from Volvo) are now again for sale in Germany and in Holland for reasonable prices."

Yep, just an ebay click away...

A pricey one though, so avoid the bay unless fairly sober!

Hello,

Ian (thanks) helped me to make an item on these Polaris wheels. I really think that a price somewhere between 650 and 750 Euro's for a set of four of these wheels is almost a bargain.
Not so long ago they were hard to find and you were lucky paying these amounts for an abused set.
Best,
Wart

Good 2/7 series cars go for between £400-£500 typically. I cant see the sense in adding alloy wheels that are worth 1.5x or 2x the cost of the car, especially given that it puts the insurance up a bit too.

Cool

I really want some of those for my limo, but as stated above the car wouldnt be worth as much as the wheels.

Yes, why put in a cd-player, change the instrument light cluster into blue, look out for some later 940 clear back lights (because ''This will improve the look of the back a lot''), install a genuine cruise control kit and install front driving lights???????
