400 series gearbox type?

Greetings all,

Would I be right in believing that all 400 series cars with a manual transmission shared the same gearbox, the M50 series?

I hope the answer is yes, as that would make my search a lot easier....

Alle gearboxes will fit from a 400 series car. In the 2l engines there was also a M60 gearbox which will fit also. They differ in final geardrive, but not much. You can also use one from a Renault (laguna, clio, 21) but be carefull with the drive for the speedo. If you have a electronical driven speedo it has to have a sensor for it, most of the Renault boxes use a cable driven speedo.
