Default Curious case of vibrating steering column

I wonder if anyone has heard this one before - or agrees with the suggested cause......I took my 2003 V70 D5 for an MOT 3 days ago. When I drove off after, I noticed quite a coarse vibration in the steering wheel especially on right lock. It didn't get worse at the extremes of lock. I showed it to a mechanic friend who ummed and aarrhed a bit. I took it to the MOT place who didn't think much of it (predictably). Just lately I noticed the vibration eased the more I used the car. The friend then came up with this theory - that during the MOT the inspector had 'passively' moved the front wheels on the rack and, in doing so, had sucked air into the system. These air bubbles had caused the vibration but they eventually got forced out of the system......?!

Sounds strange for that to happen just after the MOT .... never heard of an experience like that before.

You say the more you use it, the more the vibration is going, I would see what happens over the comming days. I believe turning the steering from lock to lock helps bleed the system so whether that's a factor I don't know.
