Wink MANUAL now bought

....although it's a facelift 2.0 not the T5 as originally planned since I couldn't find a facelift T5 within my budget.

Nonetheless, I'm very happy living with it despite the performance compromise.

I had tried a geartronic recently on a test drive at a dealership, and it was okay-ish, but lacked the "control" that a manual offers.

Also I've had several ZF autos in German cars over the years which have all failed after the 100k mark and the geartronic is apparently no better unless the oil and filter are changed well before that to be safe, at say every 50-60k miles.
