At ~15C, 12.4v on an AGM battery (assuming an accurate measurement taken after surface-charge dissipation) means roughly 60-65% charged.

Indeed 12.4 ain’t good especially on a new and charged battery thats been driven on.

this is an experiment I did back in may and this way to varify that the start up battery get charged at the same time when one charges the hydrid battery , and I have monitered my previous cars and 12,4v is not bad
back to my experiment this is with the motor off

with the engine off

so assuming 12,4 is 65% charged so whats the voltage @ 100 % hmm

100/65 * 12,4 =19,2v
19,2v battery wow that must be some battery

No - its a curve, between roughly 11.5V at 10% and 12.7at 100%

Well, the proof of the pudding is about to happen. I've unlocked the car, opened the boot and left it for fifteen minutes - about to check the voltage now.
Fingers crossed, but I'm doubtful...

Reading 12.17v this morning, which is better than I expected but still not right I don't think.
What's the consensus? Just a knackered battery, or is there still some sort of drain happening?

The dealership told me that if it goes flat, don't disconnect or try to charge it, just call Volvo Assistance and get it recovered back to a main agent so they could do a fault diagnosis with the duff battery in place.

A drop form 12.4v to 12.17 is significant and definitely not right as 12.17v is about a 35-40% battery charge state and implies a ~30% loss in <24 hours.

Could be either a duff battery or something is causing a (very) large drain.
