I'm sorry to ask, but are there any pictures for this so I may confirm?
I need to get hold of Simon if he's still a regular?

Can anyone tell me what part number the actual radiator hose is that the clamp attaches to?

Thanks for the tip. My V40 estate is leaking.. butfrom the washer bottle... still have to fix that problem though.
Do you know where I can get replacement fixings for the side skirting that goes under the sill.. I broke some off getting it off! Have pop rivotted ali plates and filler to repair rust holes in sill to avoid expensive welding.. I am a low income earner, so can't afford welding... the garage who sold me this car were sharks in Swaffham, Norfolk... they knew it was rotted to hell... the buggers. Mechanically sound though

Are these clips still available to order through this forum please?.

Just bought a W registered V40 and the clip does look very rusty.

Better to change it ASAP think.

Thank You

Any volvo dealer will be able to supply a modified stainless steel clip for a couple of £ ..

I bought a V40 S 1.6 last Thursday and thought it best I search the forum for possible problems, finding the clip corrosion one.

So I went and got 4 of the S/Steel ones from the Volvo dealer, part No.988028 now the but, the ones I've been sold are narrower than the ones fitted and I believe the ones currently fitted are from the factory as the car was one of the last year of production 2004.

What should I do as these won't "fit the groove" in the hose left by the original fit. Do you folks think I've been sold the wrong ones?

It does make a lot of sense to fit the groove as Clan says.

I would get the volvo clip rather than "jubilee " they are the correct width , which are narrower than the non volvo ones .. and fit the groove in the hose left by the orignal.
Hope everyone is with me on this.

The Volvo 988028 also has a stamp on the inside 94179L - may well be nothing more than a batch number, it is however about 3.5mm narrower.
