Thanks so much for the info, between you, Ben an Simon, i shall have a decent car. NEXT !
Let me know if you need any info on prep or choosing coatings. I buy the Jotun paints from SML paints and coatings online. Good to deal with. The Jotun 2k polyurethane paints are excellent for suspension parts and the like as well. Jotamastic 87 as the primer and topcoat with Hardtop AX as the topcoat.

Hope I haven’t just made the project a lot more work.

This is my Amazon but doing some work on her.

Very probably u have, but it's all for the good. My previous regime was: angle-grinder wire brush, rust convert, red oxide, Tetraseal. These Jotun paints aren't going to be 10 bob a tin, i have no doubt.
Just trying to chivvy the welder on a bit, it's not helped by car not driving, has to push into garage, over uneven cobbles, between servicing moderns.
There's a dearth of good welders, now, unless u go to a "Restoration" type place, an pay 80 an up p/h.

The Jotun paints are really good value just sometimes the minimum size can be too big. They are a industrial paint but you could spray the car with Hardtop AX and you would never know, it is good quality stuff.
