Default What's your MPG?

I have an S90 Inscription D4 2016 and in the short time I have had it does between 40 - 46mpg.

Best yet is 52mpg on an hour and half motorway journey.

55 litre tank and so far am filling up around the 400 mile mark.

Is that normal?

V90 CC B5p (21 model year) - in last 2k miles 30.1mpg, but on a run can see 42mpg. Previous V90 CC D4 (17 model year), in 26k miles 43.9 mpg, on a run could see 53mpg.

Not doing the mileage as previously due to Covid

When I had a MY 17 D4 V90 I averaged 46 mpg over about 22K. The best I ever saw was 59.6 ? over about 175 miles of motorway and A roads (50/50). All figures from instruments not brim to brim. I reckon my D5 returns about 8 mpg less (over 4k, Covid)

Between 38 and 44 from my V90 D5 on winter tyres at 74-76mph. Very weather dependent, particularly wind. Given the amount of road muck that ends up stuck on the back I'm assuming it's an aerodynamic thing.

V60 D4 used to do 55-65 on the same journey, but it must have weighed a tonne less. I think with the V90 Volvo got to a point with the weight where they just went "sod it", and fitted everything.

Seat massage good. Passenger seat massage? Not so convinced of the need.

My XC90 D5 from 2017 averaged 36 but would do 39 driven on a 600 mile round trip driven fast but sensibly. Many miles at 75mph on the motorway type driving.
I suspect that newer cars with hybrid diesel and Adblue would do about 5mpg better but I’d like to have that confirmed.

12 gallons at 46mpg = 550 miles. If its a front wheel drive you should manage that or maybe a bit better driving sensibly on a long journey.

I have an S90 D4 Inscription too that 8 bought new. Attached pic shows my mpg over the 92k miles I’ve driven it. Averaged 47.1 mpg and best ever between fill ups was 56.4 mpg. This is the most economical car I’ve ever owned.

Does anyone have a manual V60 D3 or D4? Keen to know how well they do in the real world - I'd expect better mpg than the automatics.
