Default led light mod

I have seen on the fleabay a kit to change the bulb in the bumper marker light to an led version as of course they are more reliable. Is it worth doing and what exactly is involved? I have a '97 v40 2.0 cd

just makes a brighter light thats all, if its a good one it should just be a straight swap for your bulb if not search again for a direct replacement led as its so much easier.

Unless your bumper side marker light is out I would leave well alone, your side markers are a sealed unit and can be a real pig to remove, I also tend to think using after market led's in the side markers is going to make them too bright.
If memory serves me correctly I believe someone on this forum managed to replace the side marker bulb but it involved splitting the side marker then resealing it to make it water tight.

Default replacement kit

the kit is a replacement bulb, as the original unit is sealed, and a whole unit must be purchased should a bulb fail. the later models have a conventional bulb, of which can easily be replaced.
