car starts then immediately cuts out
2000 Volvo V70 P80 2.4 petrol (140)
A couple of times over the last week the car has started then immediately cuts out. No engine light. Car does start on the 2nd or 3rd time of trying. Runs smoothly as it should when running. Any ideas to start with? TPS, MAF? Etc Regards, Ryan |

the fuel pressure is not monitored , its about 3.5 bar when good . use the tyre valve type connector on the fuel rail on the engine

My first thought[my V70 same as yours]was antenna ring round ignition.Mine still occasionally does it-has done since I bought it 3yrs ago-keep meaning to sort it but never seem to get round to doing so.

Starting and immediately cutting out sounds like the antenna ring and immobiliser to me too, either the antenna ring around the ignition key hole is failing or the electrical connection to it is failing. Some people have had success just by opening up the steering column shroud and unplugging and replugging the connector a few times to clean and reseat the contacts. If it does need a new antenna ring they're not too expensive and fairly easy to swap.
