Not a 'pop' at you, merely my frustration at Volvo failing to respond to an obvious need over a number of years. The VAG app proves it's possible.
Its not ideal, there should be a light or some other indication when a regen is in progress or a warning it is going to regen.
As the driver I can detect the difference in sound but my wife cant hear it when I tell her its happening.

Can someone help shed some light on this reference that has appeared in the latest software update summary?

"Applies to the XC60/XC60 B4/B5 from and including model year 2020: A battery symbol has been added in the driver display in order to indicate when the car is regenerating."

This is taken from here:
https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...ftware-updates

Does this relate to the DPF regens or something specific to the B4/B5 engine? I am pessimistic and so assume it is not the DPF regen as if it was the DPF then it would seem slightly odd to me that it is a battery symbol.

If it is the DPF regens, I hope they add this to the D4/D5.......

Its specific to the B series engine electric regeneration system. Like the KERs system on racing cars. Kinetic energy recovery system.

The B5 is a mild hybrid which recharges the battery through regenerative braking - I think the 'regenerating' refers to this rather than DPF regeneration.
