Default 12v power sockets.

I'm still getting used to my XC60 & finding out new things all the time. One thing that puzzles me - if I stop for a short while, for petrol or to let the wife pop into the shop, when I turn the car back on there is no power to the 12v sockets. I have to turn it off & on again to get them to work. Is there something I am missing or do I just have to put up with it?

Its stays on for about 8 minutes after turning ignition off then powers down until ignition turned back on, that's how it is designed,

I do find the battery saving techniques used in these cars to be a bit extreme and wonder how well the batteries will perform in the long term.

I understand that, but why do they turn off when I turn on within the 8 minutes?

Is this happening on all the 12v outlets or just the front one, could it be your device rather than the socket, (usb charger) have you tried another device to see if it is the same or tried it in another socket.
All I get when starting the engine while my phone is charging is a momentary blip as the power is sapped by the starter motor. (I hear my phone beep as charging restarts instantly as engine starts)

It's both front & back, I have dashcams plugged in both.

By the look of it not very well, mine ( 2017 XC60 D5 Inscription Pro)
went in for a suspension problem and i said that stop start was not working.
Phoned to say car was fixed, asked what was wrong replaced relay for suspension and replaced the battery.
Not very good really 20k and 2 years old new battery replacement.

There was a faulty batch of batteries, looks like yours was one of them
