Registration doesn’t necessarily mean it was built around then.
It could have sat in a field for 6months or more.

You should be able to decode the chassis number.

I've been looking at new and used options, and all the used options I have seen at dealers with a registration date of July 2019 onwards have all been shown as the 2020 model. This doesn't take the sitting in the field out of the equation, but it suggests it is more likely a Sept 19 registered would be a 2020 model.

The Volvo on Call app tells you which model year car you have.

Volvo model years start in Apr/May each year and are given the following year's year; ie a car produced after May 2019 is a model year 20.

So unless your car was sitting around for over 5 months before being first registered (very unlikely) it'll be a MY20.

Hi,
Search for a post titled; Spec check for UK vehicles only.
Send a message with your registration and the gentleman who put the post on will tell you all you need to know.

thanks for that

interestingly when I go into "service requirements" it says something like service due in 96 days or 17,070 miles, so it could have been built before May and been lying around for over 5 months!

Model year is on the app, when on the home page, top left corner it’s just above the name you have given the car, in my case it’s the car reg number.

So it is! You’re a star.

(Mines a 2019, so it sat around for a few months before being registered)
