Question V90 roof rails

I'm thinking of changing my XC70 with old fashioned roof rails for a V90 with the flush roof rails. I regularly carry bikes or kayaks on the car roof and wonder about the security of roof bars attached to the new rails, there isn't much of a lip for the bar feet to grip. I only use Thule roof bars / feet

Anyone had any issues carrying loads on the roof or am I worrying un necesarily

Thanks

There is absolutely no issues with the flush rails. I have a Thule kit inc 4x bike carriers and regularly carry it fully loaded. No movement and much much better after years of boot racks and tow bar racks.

No problem with the flush rails on either the Mk 1 XC60 or the Mk 2 version. Many, many miles with four bikes or two bikes plus a roof box. I have used both a Thule system and a set of the Atera bars.
