Default 97 2.5 tdi diesel pump set up

hi can any one help with the initail set up of the diesel belt pump as my belt has broken up and so i have to reset the timing.
I have tried to set up with the flywheel v notch and the pump pulley mark , however i notice that on turning the engine over the diesel pump mark is not in line with the flywheel v notch.
I also noticed a v notch in the cam shaft pulley, what does this line up with?

I don't have any links for you, but there is an absolute wealth of information on this 'diesel' section and in the '850/v70' section.

Default Diesel pump timing

There is probably a very thin line marked on the bump pulley, you may need to clean it up to fine it, make sure the engine is in correct position and line up pump with said line, if it doesn't start move it a fraction either way each time and try to get running, once running you can tweak it to get the running better, then get timing properly reset, had to do this on a vw recently and got running on the second try...
