Question Headrests

Picked up my 20 plate XC40 on the 27th and was chauffeured home by a mate of mine who's a named driver on the insurance. It's done a total of 12 miles. It will now sit outside the house. Having broken my humerus(upper arm) in 3 bits I can't drive until at least the 4th of November or even later ,depending on the surgeon.
When I get the ok I will normally carry two dogs . I already have a dog guard. I wanted to know if it's possible to remove the rear headrests, partly so the seats will fold easier and also because it's leather(inscription pro) and I don't want any chewing!

My 20-plate Inscription Pro (bought last year) has the excellent Volvo XC40 dog guard, and my dog can't possibly reach the head restraint through it; maybe you have a different guard? I can't see any obvious way to release the headrest though.

I broke my humerus into several pieces when I was 70 and had a plate inserted, so wasn't able to drive for several weeks. Eventually the plate was removed and everything healed perfectly.
