Default Problems with Intake Manifold and Tailgate

I bought an approved used Volvo V60 (2019) in October 2022, and I'm having a number of issues with it.

First Issue, I was driving along and the Engine Management light came on and the car went into limp mode with loss of engine performance.
After stopping the car, and restarting, the light went away.
I had this checked with my local Volvo dealership (Marshalls in Cambridge, UK).
They said that I would need to replace the intake manifold if the light came on again. At this point, they gave me a quote for this at £680.

Fast forward 2 months, and the engine management light does come back on, this time with an acompanying message "Engine Service Required".
I took it back to Volvo dealership, and again they said the intake manifold needs replacing, with a new quote of £1847
When I questioned them on the difference they made up some rubbish, that the first quote with just for the part, no labour, and the extra cost was flushing out the carbon or something?
I decided to get the work done at another trusted local garage (Regency Autos) who quoted £679.

Second issue, Automatic Tailgate struts failure.
After 3 months of having the car, the tailgate struts started to fail.
When opening, the tailgate opens to the top, but then comes straight back down to around 1/2 way.
This has caused numerous head bangs.
I read and tried to reset the tailgate position, but it did nothing, so I took it to the same Volvo dealership.
They confirmed that the struts need replacing and will costs a whopping £970.
I got a quote to do the work form Regency Autos, which was less than half the price, but they said that I would still need to take it to Volvo for them to re-program them to the correct positions.

Third issue, the infortainment system randomly restarts itself every so often. It does not happen regularly, but somethimes happens multiple times a day. Seems completely random to me.

Does anyone else have similar experiences of any of these issues.

The engine issue is common, it’s caused by the EGR, the intake manifold gets heavily sooted and blocked. It is very hard to clean out hence it has to be replaced. Carbon also builds up on the intake valves and this can effect the running of the engine hence they will clean these whilst it’s apart. If you do some research regarding the VEA Diesel engines you will see these issues have been going on for some time.

The strut failure I have also seen, surely you should be covered under selekt warranty?? You say it’s an approved used car?
