Using this method though, I have recorded some pretty spectacular economy figures on my journeys from home to Norwich and back again (well into triple figure MPG when driving sensibly if VOC is to be believed).
'Polestar Engineered' mode, as you would expect, returns much worse fuel economy figures but blimey, is it quick for a 2.4 ton SUV!!
OK thanks - how long a journey are you talking about?

Its about 20 miles each way on a mix of dual carriageways, country 'A' roads and city driving.
I have also recorded commendable figures on longer journeys (mid 40's mpg) but I am used to high teen/low 20's mpg so pretty much everything I get out of the Polestar Engineered is a good economy figure to me.
Driven quite hard in PE mode (starting with a full battery and no electric only driving) on country back roads and dual carriageways (with plenty of overtaking and hard acceleration) on a 25 mile hoon, I recorded just under 28mpg which I though was pretty good.

I just did a similar journey to that in Pure, mostly 50-70mph and did about 23 miles before the battery ran out which is pretty cool .. I’d use hardly any petrol through the week if I had a charger at the house and work.

23 miles at those sorts of speeds with the chilly weather we have now is pretty good!! Cold weather is well known for reducing battery efficiency and reducing the electric range a good amount.
Once summer arrives, you should be able to eek at least another 3-5 miles on that, maybe even reach 30 on a good day!!

Yeah I was pretty impressed with it too especially for such a big car, I’ll see how it does once work has some chargers before deciding on one for the house :-)

You know about the government grant of £500 towards home charger installation right?

Yeah but you still have to pay for the electric so it really depends how it all works out tax-wise for me. Charging it every day at work and seeing how it does should give me a better idea of the costs... honestly I didn’t think it stood a chance of making 20miles so it’ll make the comparison interesting.

One of the purposes of this car is to be economical

And it can be if driven correctly but that gets boring and I usually choose to drive uneconomically

Economy is very tedious.
