Information: - Insurance... commercial van to car for work use

Can any one help...
I have a transit insured on a commercial vehicle policy and would like to transfer the no claims , 9 years, to a V70 and use that for work too, I cant find an insurer to do this, does anyone have an answer?

most brokers will be able to help, we do it all the time,although we do have phone the rep to give the go ahead on some cases,malcolmk

I have tries chris knot and swinton, they cant do it???

try the smaller broker,the large ones havn`t got the flexabilty that us small ones have, as the insurance companies don`t trust them as much,and let us do things that the likes of swintons can` t do, i`m not sure i would be competative outside our postcode area,and i`m not allowed to ply my wares,as it`s a social things and the likes of chris knotts pay for the privelage,malcolmk

Well I managed to get a price today but at well over 800 pounds I think the idea is out of the window....or does anyone know who to call for a quote??

I've used them for years and always found them excellent.

Don't use the online quote system.......ring them and have a chat. It's a small broker and very friendly.......always happy to try and help.

Ecoinsurance from Co-operative insurance underwritten by CIS insurance.
I switched from a van with seats to a V70 and they even said they didnt need proof of bonus but have definitely recorded it on the documents.

Wasnt commercial insurance but they do do that, maybe that will be the difference or the price will be skyhigh.
Dont think they do modified cars though.
Dont get very good reviews from people making a claim but for me the price was ok and the carbon offset is a nice touch.
Got 30 days european cover with it but on enquiry discovered it is only third party, which is a bit naff.
Hope its of some help.
