Default XC90 T8 74,000 mile service update

Good morning,

My trusty T8 has just has its 4th service at 74,000 miles.

The only problem I have now had in 28 months is that the drivers heated seat pad has failed and is being replaced next week.

Apart from that, still drives like new. I remain very impressed. It is now likely that I will have use of this car until the next service, might become the highest mileage XC90 T8 on the forum?

Regards

Rojah

74k miles in 28 months? wow... Was there any major replacement in your last 4 services?

I'm looking at around 18-20k a year on my S90 and trying to anticipate the cost

To think years ago, I was doing 74k in 12 months Cars back then just went on and on, even petrol, even did 100k in a R5 Turbo in 2 Years, only ever needed clutch cables.
Lets hope your XC 90 has a lot more in it, can you check the Efficiency of the Batteries when fully charged ie percentage they hold compared to new? (I assume it is a hybrid)

I am a bit behind you. Mine is on 59600 miles so just about to drop out of warranty. I have had mine 26 months. Did your heated seat pad get done on warranty/goodwill then? Or are you paying?

I guess back then it was rust which was the major killer and that tends to be age related.

That's amazing mileage on the tyres. I read some thread here saying they need to change tyres less than 10k??

I would say 60% Motorway.

Average speeds are much lower these days with congestion and the spreading infestation of average speed cameras

There has been a drop off in battery capacity/mileage especially when near freezing temps, when it would struggle to do 14-15 miles per charge. Now in temps above 14C I am getting 17-19 miles. Considering the number of charge cycles so far and miles, it’s quite good really.

What I have noticed is a small drop off in max power in pure electric mode. Whereas I used to comfortably drive up and down the inclines of the Belmont Road at 50mph, it requires full power on occasion to haul the 2+ tonnes over the top onto the moors.

Petrol only consumption isn’t bad, have done a couple of long runs at 39.6mpg since it was serviced in Tuesday, my worst being 33mpg when I hoofed it.
