Default S80 2002 wiper change plastic clips

In the action of changing my wiper blades I broke the little plastic clip which I assume secures the wiper onto the arm. I fixed the new blade into position without the clip and it seems secure enough , anyone one with similar problem and will the blade be secure witho9the clip? Cheers
By the way what a ball ache.

I think many people just live without the wash/wipe judging by the amount I've seen without blades fitted. I just couldn't let it go to waste, the motors etc are already there and programmed to operate so why not use them? Ours came sans-blade too and one of the lugs is broken on the part that the blade clips into.

Like you said, it seemed secure enough when I fitted a new blade but I still added a zip-tie around the job to make sure it doesn't go walkies. I imagine it could damage our (or someone elses) windscreen if it flew off under wind pressure on the motorway.

I would be interested to know if the whole plastic end of the wiper arm is available new, as they do go brittle over time and ours are both a little loose in the end of the actual arm also.
