So after looking at a lot of cars and seeing quite a few dogs, I’m now seriously looking at this one. There seems to be a real gap between the budget bottom end with big miles and no history, and low spec or mid range and decent spec.
So I’ve upped my budget and am considering this which is the nicest I’ve found so far with the spec I want.

Hoping that when I go an see it, it’s as good in the flesh. The spec is great, the history is good, just need to give it good look over.

8 Grand for a D3 facelift?

Hmm...

It's your money but it seems a tad expensive to me - private sale too.

It’s nearer 7.5 that we’ve negotiated.nyes, mit is a bit expensive but most of the cars I’ve looked at would need 2K of work. The one in Doncaster never got back so I guess it was accident damage at the front that was stopping the drivers door closing.
The two traders with cars around the £3.2 mark never answer the phone so can’t get any info on the cars.
Even the more expensive one for sale via Inchcape doesn’t have a service history!
After that it’s cheap powershift or nothing. There doesn’t seem to be anything in the middle range at present.

Lovely car in Solstice spec.

Good point about the work looming on older cars. That's always the balance bewteen spending upfront or later down the line. Whatcar valuation is £7.5-8k and nothing else on AT anywhere near as good.

Hope its as good as it looks when you view.

Looks good, nice that it's a facelift and decent spec with folding mirrors, parking sensors, heated seats, BT, stereo upgrade too I think. Good luck!

PS I'd try and knock a few more quid off just for him playing Rod Stewart...

Well it was nice while it lasted but the little sh!t selling it has just gazumphed me and demanded another £300 or he will sell it to a local dealer who he claims have offered him £8200 tomorrow.
If I don't match or better this offer he will sell it to them.

Indeed. But I've never done this to anyone in 30 years. Sold my wifes Renault Megane last month to a guy who travelled up 120 miles from Bedford. Agreed a price with him, knew he was paying for HPI checks etc and honoured the price we agreed even though I had other offers between us agreeing and him being able to take a day off to collect the car.

What's disappointing about this is that it turns out to be a 26 year old lawyer, selling on behalf of his father. So good to know he's starting out his working career like this.

Search Autotrader Horton Cars for Graham Lange's current stock with several C70s. He's my local Indy and a good guy, from whom I've bought. Anything here?

Yes I had a chat with him and he was really helpful. Would have bought one from him but none of them had Winter pack. Will have another check of his stock now though.

Actually just checked again and the 09 D5 has most everything so had a quick chat with him. Could be a good buy.
