Might do a short vid myself when I change it!

Now on to addressing the AWD problem....
There really isn’t much to it. Unplug the old. Unscrew it from just in front of the DPF (it can be tight in there). Screw in the new and plug it in. You will need to rest the errors in VIDA but that’s it.

There are a few hints that make this job easier. I will post some instructions when I have the car back up tomorrow.

I missed this..... It's difficult to remember everyone I've dealt with by their forum name so apologies.

When there's more than one part number, there's usually an extra condition for compatibility like chassis number range for example.

Or use a brake spanner which has a cut out.

Not a difficult job, but some hints to make it easier:
1. Penetrating oil is your friend
2. Cut the wire just above the old sensor so you can get a deep impact socket on the bolt.
3. Use a proper hex socket, anything else risks stripping the bolt
4. The old sensor in mine was slightly bent, which prevented the socket seating properly on the bolt. Check this and rectify, the bolt is VERY hard to get off and if the socket is not seated fully and level you will not be able to get he amount of torque on it to get it off.
5. Use a breaker bar/extension. I have a huge torque wrench which I used. You will struggle to get enough torque with a standard wrench.
6. The bolt will come out if you follow above, and it is then 2 minutes to screw in the new one.
6. There is a channel at the top of the connector that you need to slide a screwdriver into to release the connector.

Easy DIY job.

Oh - and get VIDA! I got mine with a laptop from Cheshireid for £285 which felt like quite an outlay. Between this simple job and fixing the AWD myself I have saved more that that already. Dealer and indy were both suggesting much more expensive solutions to what in the end were quite simple problems.
