Does anyone know if a camshaft / crankcase sensor cause slow cranking?
Can fuel starvation cause slow cranking? Anyone had a blocked CAT? what are the symptoms? |

UPDATE
Have found slight leak i think in mounts, mityvac playing up so plugged supply to solenoid. Also cleaned out egr. also cleaned up the negative from the battery to the bodywork in the engine bay. Didn't know it was there until i saw it while working on the egr. Never heard this mentioned in other chats. Seems better so far but using it daily so hard to tell yet but feels like it's firing up better. |

20221001_113004.jpg Right, car still pants at starting after unused for 2 days or more. Have taken it to 2 garages and they said nothing wrong with it. Checked all electrical alternator load test etc the whole lot. I have attached a screen shot and video. Would appreciate any feedback, maybe i'm missing something or is there more data i can add. I'm not giving up,, we will find the solution my friends. thank you Last edited by richieski; Oct 13th, 2022 at 18:17. |

Well all I can report is that mine is still doing the same thing, except it seems to be more intermittent than yours. I take it you've checked the parasitic drain?

Hi,
Interest rather than direct knowledge of this so one for the D5 guys to comment on but weren't the early D5s slightly infamous for injector issues that manifested themselves like this? Do a quick search. BR. |

Plugged in Vida, battery registered 12.1 V, this sounds low to me.
What do you think? Did an injector test. All good apart from Cyl4 overfuelling +3.3 on 1st test Then tested again about 6 times. 2nd test was a +2.8 Each time the value dropped and ended at last test +1.8 |

Ok its been a while.
I bought a new battery YUASA best one i could get and it seems to sorted it. So the Bosch S5 was probably faulty from the start All the tests etc did not pick it up. I now have a faulty injector so hopefully it will start on the button soon. (does sometimes take a few turns to fire but now it's quick whereas the bosch was slow) |
