Question 340 dl very lumpy when idle?

my 340 dl auto has started being very lumpy when idleing and has started cutting out ocasionaly if i break hard....(stalling?) it is a cvt so i dont know if they can stall but that is the best way i can describe what is happening....any ideas??

Its either got an air leak in the induction system somewhere causing a weak idle mixture, or an ignition fault, something like a dirty/worn dizzy cap. That's where I would be starting. First check the dizzy cap and then start searching for air leaks around the carb base and inlet manifold.

thanx for the suggestions....i have checked the dizzy cap (clean as a whistle) and i cant identify any air leaks ...any other ideas??.........the lumpyness seems to go away however when i very gently press the gas peddle....maybee if i tighten the throttle cable a little???...all suggestions welcome.

sorted!..

took the carb off...the gasket for the top section of the carb was broken and letting air in.....ive replaced it and its running good now.
