Anything with about the right curvature would probably be okay.

I'm thinking that if I found a pair for about £20 in the UK it would be worth a gamble.

... or how about this for an off the wall idea Dave: a set of front wheel liners from a 240 for £40 - and make them fit:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154076870...QAAOSwti1dX7Ro

The advantage would be I could pull one of the front wheel liners from the RB (this weekend) and see if they fit where they touch (as my mother might say) - and if they look to be near enough for government work then give them a go. A few pop rivets and a but of GRP might make a good job for £40 (and be in keeping with the RB's ethos).

:-)

PS. For my own record (so I can find it again) this was the link to the German 240 wheel arch liners:

https://www.lokari.de/epages/6271628...ts/IKF-109-L-R

- Euros 150/pair +VAT + postage - so probably about £200 total.

I've found your rocker cover Alan, it was in the boot of the 760! Completely forgot I had put it in there.

The front wheel-arch liners were a standard fit from the beginning of 200-series production.

Alan
I think rear arch liners from a later 7/9xx are more likely to be a close fit than the front ones from a 240 Alan. You could try your idea of using the front ones to test the back to see if the diagonally opposite liners from the front of another 240 will fit the rears with minor modification.
If nothing else it will show where the front ones are lacking in length, width or whatever.

They may even be a perfect fit but i somehow doubt it, life isn't usually that considerate!

Some time back i secured a pair of front arch liners from a 940 for mine, i'm expecting some mods to be necessary, despite the fact the bodyshells are virtually identical. It might even make it quieter but i won't hold my breath on that one!

I put Lokari rear plastic liners on my '88 after dealing with the wheel arch rust. I didn't want to repair the arches again. They were easy to fit -- just some screws to mount them, and a heat gun to shape them around the edge of the wheel arch. The rest of the car rusted to bits unfortunately. But the rear arches were great!

Wonderful Luke! It would be really convenient to get that one repainted then just swap them.

Would you mind putting it is the mail for me? Just let me know the cost of the postage and I'll do another bank transfer. There would be no rush - that is a job for the summer.

We had a very early 244, 'loki', '75 (N) registered, that wasn't so fitted and the front wings rotted abominably along the tops. As we bought the car secondhand at nine years old, I can't say for certain at this distance in time if liners were originally fitted, but subsequently removed and not replaced, or were not fitted in the first place. As far as I can recall, all of our later cars, (S,V,W,X and Y registered) were all so fitted, and none of them rotted out in the front wings!

Regards, John.

We,, that is one possibility eliminated. I pulled the driver's side liner out and tried it on the back - both sides. I don't think it is similar enough to make the job worthwhile.

If i want wheel arch liners on the rear of the RB the options are either shell out £200 for the proper parts from Germany or look around for some 740/940 ones from a scrapper (cheap) and have a go at adjusting them.

I'm thinking about it :-)

What about this Alan? It's from a 7/9xx rear left and also fits the V90 (not sure about the S90) so might give you an idea :
