It seems that all these driver aids, creature comforts, gizmo's and gadgets make for an unreliable cars these days. A modern car is so full of electronics and sensors, its scrambling the cars brain

I have to agree. I miss the simplicity of my 1988 760, the 1996 940 is quite complicated to me! Now that I have found a very reasonable priced welder I may return to 200 series in the future!

Agree Simon, ford got the idea, on a frosty morning a heated front windscreen was a blessing.

I can't imagine Volvo when they were Volvo, with their reputation for safety and all things safe, would have ever dreamt of fitting front heated screens, they do interfere with vision in sunlight, even the most modern ones

Have you ever tried driving a P1 v70 into the sun when the dash top reflects on the inside of the screen and turns bright sunlight into fog? Poloroid sunglasses are a must if you want to see the road clearly.

Heated screen should be a standard fit these days, my Sierra had one and it was stunning. HDC is yet another wonderful invention, my Freelander was as steady as a rock on a sharp decent.
My favourite modern gadget is the limiter on my van, it's great while driving through roadworks. My next Volvo will have a limited on it.

Only if Volvo deem it is a car that can have it - for some reason they do not offer it as standard or an option across the entire range

Nor will they let you have the seats you want in the car you want. Their loss, I didn't buy their new 33 grand car.

I'll just buy the car that fits the bill..... Got two years to go yet before I upgrade again

It would be good though if Volvo offered the options that brought the car closer to that bill.

Personally I would like a greater choice of petrol and petrol/hybrid engines across their range.
