Going to the Smithy Garage in Culcheth tomorrow, seemed very knowledgeable when I spoke to him this morning. I'll update the thread for anyone who has similar problems afterwards.

Had virtually the same issue with my last v70, the fault was intermittent and initially with a high fuel level. It gradually got worse, until it was almost undrivable. New intank pump sorted it out.

Default Update

Well that was a successful mission. I highly recommend Smithy Garage in Culcheth to anyone in striking distance of Warrington with an ailing Volvo. Really nice people running it and very knowledgeable. Thanks chaps.

So, once all my ancient ABS faults are cleared off (dodgy CEM a few years ago) it points to one of two possible faults, a failing rail pressure sensor or a cooling fan fault (they sit on the same circuit apparently) It could also just be a knock on of an accumulation of other faults as well so with that in mind everything is now cleared and we wait and see. The car drove there (20 miles) without the fault occurring, and drove back similarly. Next step, drive it until it faults again then take it back and we pinpoint the specific problem.

I'll keep you updated for posterity.

Is this a VIDA/DICE or just a cheap copy of that?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-VID...wyi9aDUL3#rwid

If not, could someone shed some light and maybe a link for a proper one?
thanks

If all you want is a code read, I can do that for nothing and there are a couple of members around you who have the same setup purchased from me.

By any chance do you know what a code:300 stands for? Ive got a V50 '08, 2.0D R-Design.

Cheers in advance

Hi,

sorry to hijack the thread

Message for Mick,

I'm interested in the laptop software etc
Can't be bothered to set up an old hp with the software

Send me your details so we can sort out the arrangements

Now back to changing the engine mount on my XC90, before it rains!

Thanks

John

Reference code 300 - if the code is from ECM then may be this:

ECM-P000300 Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit Low. General Failure Information. No sub type information
