how does the other side of the bumper look?
you could fingers crossed, get away with a bumper and crash bar. (only judging by the photos)


I was slid into at lights a few years back by a young lad in a mk3 golf, light impact, tow bar saved the bumper :P

Honestly Alex that just looks like the bumper.

Don't know if you've had the rear bumper off or seen that but it secure by 2 metal holders going into the car and bolting on. Suspect these have just bent.

But get it taken off and have a good look behind it to see any damage.

Look at the pictures of my Silver V40. That was only a Cat D. So wouldn't worry too much

Noooo! I hope it's not structural. Doesn't look bad at all. If its not structural and they still write it off as cat d, buy it back for peanuts and put it back on the road.

Mine was a cat d with previous owner for a scrape on the door and wing! I bought the car for £400 from him. New door and wing for £70 and it was sorted.£470 for a 75k mile T4 with most of the options too!!

Fingers crossed indeed. I've just spent the last half hour on AutoTrader - Literally clueless on what I would swap it for if it gets written off. I've grown quite fond of this one.

Cat D... Cat C at worst. doesnt look TOO bad. Either way, worth buying it back from the insurance guys. I had a Cat C which looked terrible, ready for the crusher, but someone somewhere somehow bought it and its back on the roads, apparently!

Im driving a Cat C at the moment, didnt realise that when I bought it but its had a hell of a whack on the front nearside and been covered up.

Dont let them take her away for good! Blacks the best colour IMO...
