Default XC60 Wiper Problem

Does anybody else have a problem with the driver's side wiper clipping the A frame pillar when driving in the rain at motorway speeds ?

At first I thought it was because the glass was new and that things would settle down, but it’s coming up to the 3k check-up and it’s still a problem. Might ask the dealer to see if they can adjust it, but slightly nervous about ending up with a 2” unswept arc near the pillar.

And while I’ve got your attention, am I the only one who keeps finding the plastic cover of the tailgate locking mechanism sitting in the striker bar hole ? The odd thing is that if you clip the cover back in place on the tailgate while it’s open, you can’t then budge it, but it will work loose again.

.
2 minute adjustment that your dealer can do for you - someone has fitted the arm incorrectly - this should have been picked up during the PDI - naughty, but easy to fix at the 3k inspection

Actualy the QAI is time based, 3 months rather than 3000 miles ... ok most people would do 3000 miles in 3 months BUT a lot will do a LOT more and some may struggle to do 3000 miles in a year . hence 3 months time bassed ..

I think I have the same issue with the wiper blade hitting the a piller, although its only rained once in the week i've have the car. I'll check it again and if so, it will be going back at lot sooner than in 3 months...

(my dealer is going love me, any minor item and its going in, last time they gave me a 2010 C70 to play in, had the roof down all day)

It is very disappointing to hear that this is still a build issue on the XC60. I have had my car for 15 months now and it was an issue when I collected my car.

It is a 5 minute fix, as has been suggested, but it is sad that after all this time cars are still appearing like this - I recall that others had the same issue and my dealer said that they would be reporting it as they had had several cases.

I suggest that when you have it corrected you mention that this is a fault from long ago.

BTW, I still think that the car is fantastic - I can't recall being so enthused about any other car that I have owned after 15 months

Does anyone know the details of how to rectify this? My wiper has taken a little of the paint off the A pillar, it just needs a little adjustment.

I can take it to the dealer but if it only takes 2 minutes I'd rather do it myself than waste another £20 in fuel and at least an hours travelling.

Tape the current position, take the cover off, take the bolt off you will need a torque wrench probably, and wiper puller to remove the arm of the wiper then adjust it.

Whilst doing that it is worth cleaning the plastic trim and protecting it . Right tools 10 minutes to get both off.
