SC800 SC802 what's the better unit.
I currently have and SC-800 Headunit, I am about to get a CD changer but it also has an SC-802 headunit.
Which is the better head unit? Thanks TT |

RE: SC800 SC802 what's the better unit.
If my memory serves me right, the SC802 is the non-CD version of the SC805, which I think is generally reagrded as a decent head unit. If the SC800 is the one I think it is, then I would go for the SC802; but I'm no expert in ICE. I'm sure someone else can be more definitive.

RE: SC800 SC802 what's the better unit.
SC800 is very similar looking to the 802, but has 2 rotary knobs one for volume and one for tuning. The 802 appears to have up/down buttons for tuning.
I like the performance & ease of use of my 800, that's the main reason my Panasonic system has not been installed. Prehaps the 802 is just a slight revision of the 800. Or maybee a much better unit :) which would be a bonus.. I just want to be able to play CD's again. I have not gone more than 2 months without an autochanger for over 10 years! Starting to get withdrawl symtoms. TT |

RE: SC800 SC802 what's the better unit.
The 802 is the same as the 805 but without the integral single disk CD player, which is a slot loading unit which fills the blank space along the top of the 802. The sliders are tone and fader controls, It is RDS and the tuning is done using the fast forward REW buttons.
Dont know anything about the 800, but if it has rotary tuning is it not an rds unit ? Out of interest what is the CD multiplayer ? I would like to put one in, but I havent yet looked into it, are they straightforward units from a known supplier or is there something specific about them ? thanks Mark |
