Default Dump Valve on a T5

I would like to fit a Bailey dump valve on my 850 T5. I know they work OK on manuals, but do they work the same on an Auto?

they work fine, i had one on my t5r auto and i had no probs with it, only the installation was a pain in the a**e.

i would spend the extra few quid and buy the one don sells because you get all the correct pieces to blank of the valve on the turbo and extra pipes so you don't have to cut the original ones.

the bailey installation kit is useless its the same kit as for the rs turbo escort, the main problem with this is that you don't get instruction spcifically for a volvo and consequently you don't get the most important piece for installation, the blanking plate for the valve on the turbo!!!

i rang bailey about this and they said it didn't need the plate and they are right it doesn't, but without it the dv sounds naff and very quite.

its up to you but i would go with don's, although if you know your stuff fabricating a plate isn't too hard but just make sure you get the dv26 if you go with bailey or you'll get ecu errors.

The one from Kalamar Union comes with the full kit to fit it correctly.

I was thinking of doing it, but the auto keeps the revs up during changes so the "DUMP" is not that noticeable.

In all fairness the dump valve already fitted does the job just fine. All these aftermarket valves do is make an "I'm a boy racer look at me" noise.
