Unfortunately not. I attended the auction but was unable to stay long enough to see the 164 enter the sale room. The information I have posted is taken from the auction results available on Anglia Car Auction web site. The car itself really needed new front wings, front valance,door skins etc. I noticed it had a new brake servo fitted. The interior needed a good clean. With a bit of time and money it could be made into a nice car. It looked very original and hadn't been messed about. I can only assume the car didn't make its reserve so is still available. A quick call to Rob George on 01553 771881 will confirm the current position. His website is www.angliacarauctions.co.uk

Hi Paul, The 164 at Anglia Car Auctions on 24th August had Registration Number TER764K. It is a Twin Carb with Manual Gearbox. 2 owners with the first having owned the car for 40 years. Odometer reading 137,000 miles. I have never owned this car. A few months ago KGF Cars sold (The famous one) as you describe it which was used by Volvo in a national advertising campaign. This car was a 164E , Registration Number 0AH299M. The one they are currently trying to sell is another 164 I owned for many years FAY702L. I disposed of both cars at Anglia Car Auctions in 2011. Thanks very much for info on the latest ACA 164 for sale/ I wonder if they'll re-list it at a lower reserve or move it on to a dealer? I must keep a lookout so I can chase for its VIN-number, as from experience I doubt ACA would tell me.

I have details of both your fine cars, thanks, from conversation with Dave Sutton, who has owned both since you.

Currently I'm chasing the new owner of the car previously owned by an antique dealer in Cirencester I know - it was light blue like mine. Could it be the latest ACA one by chance, as not too many come up for sale nowadays.
