POWER STEERING LEAK NEW SHAPE V70
I have found oil leaking onto the garage floor and on investigation it looks as if it is from the power steering oil reservoir as oil has been leaking on to the top of the chassis leg. It could be a hose or the reservior? The car is a new shape 2001 v70 2.4 auto. Your comments and info would be great.
Thanks jim |

A few of our coy cars had this, i think it was the seal as you look at the pump from the front of the car you will see a pipe coming out on the bottom right, some of ours were from there and were repaired by replacing the clip holding the pipe on with a new jubilee clip, hope this helps.

I have fitted two jubilee clips to the hoses that come out of the reservoir. I will not know if thie has cured the problem till I get power steering fluid on Monday. I have been unable to find another supplier for this type of fluid.
Many thanks Jim |

I had exactly the same problem the other week.
It was, as you suggest the resovoir, my garage changed it and replaced the clips with jubilee clips. Apparently this is a common problem on this model, they had plenty of the bottles in stock! (To me it sounds totally bizarre, how can a plastic bottle go wrong?!?!) James |

This evening I filled up the resevior with new fliud. The fluid cost £12 with discount at the dealer. On refilling and the new jubilee clips in place it loks as if it is cured. I was told they have fitted jubilee clips bur not reseviors.
Many thanks Jim |

I still have a leak and the only cure is a new tank. I ordered one today and will let you Know if this cures the fault.

I think this must be quite common, when I was looking I either wanted a new shape petrol or classic tdi, several new shapes that I looked at had power steering fluid bottles in the boot.
