Outside Air Temp Sensor Faulty?
Having had some good advice on here recently on another issue, I thought I`d try you knowledgeable people with this one.......
The outside air temperature sensor (mostly) gives a false reading; it under-reads by between 5 and 10 degrees. I know how to change the sensor (located in the door mirror) but before doing so wondered if anyone else had resolved this by (for example) finding a dodgy connector. No point in replacing the sensor if it is not faulty....... Or are the sensors known to be failure-prone? It`s MY05 163bhp D5. Thank you in anticipation. |

Mine went faulty, and was reading below what it should be. I replaced it and it now reads OK. There are two sensors, one under each mirror but the one which sorted mine was under the drivers(RHD) mirror.

I have the same problem on my 2005 V50 - it sends the A/C haywire.
Anyone manage to get hold of the service bulletin for this issue. Apparently a corrosion issue in the door connector and the fix is to replace the door loom with new one that has gold plated connectors. Some people manage to fix it by cleaning out the connectors. |
