Default Washing after paint job

Hello, just got my car back recently after someone ran into my side. Had the driver door, passenger driver side door and the back panel painted. The Volvo recommended repairs seem to have done an invisible repair. What I want to know is, how soon before I can wash my car
Cheers

Surely the dealer/body shop who has carried out the work is the best place to ask?

I did not think to ask as I picked the car up as it was looking good, trouble is now with all the grit and crap on the road currently. I know that I cannot use any kind of hot power wash, but will it be okay to use warm water and a shampoo, with a mild detergent in it this evening?

If you're unsure then the best thing is to leave it unwashed for around a week and then only use tepid water (no shampoo). Don't use a power wash. This would be a safety first approach.

Most of the damage we do to our car's paint finish is caused through clumsy washing - sponges that scratch because of embedded grit causes brillo-pad swirls etc. Dirt building up on paint for a couple of weeks is better than a quick but clumsy wash. Dirty cars are an occupational hazard at this time of year.

IMHO

Default One week is too short!

Leave it at least 6 weeks for the paint to harden up .

I would personally leave it 24 hours, The paint is baked so is set more or less straight away. 6 weeks wait is way back in the 80s
