Google - Roll back from kitkat to jelly bean.
There is a lot of links on how to do this.

Seems a lot of users are having problems with kitkat.
My phone has recently updated, but will have to wait for new V60 to see if I am going to have problems.

All forums/blogs indicate that you can't roll back and for one, wouldn't like to try it for fear of rendering my smartphone inoperable!

Beware of those android people offering you a kit kat.............maybe tempting but will bugger-up some of the in car functionality your phone has with Sensus Connect. Had I know this beforehand, I wouldn't have updated as there is hardly any difference/improvement in the OS. Now can't read text messages and the bluetooth connectivity with Spotify is now a bit hit and miss and sometimes won't work at all....My daughter ain't happy either!

Bit of a problem, as nearly all new Android phones come with kitkat installed.
I wonder how long it will take Volvo to get an update for Sensus Connect out?

Contacted Volvo UK to pose the question only they wouldn't commit. They advised that they had initially tested several phones for functionality although with firmware upgrades this can cause a problem.

Did ask them how long it might be before they catch up. As like Tem states, nearly all new android phones will eventually have 4.4.2 and before long, by default, lots of them won't work properly and customers will be unhappy.

Was told to ask my dealer and will do that to see what they say.

Ok, so as I mentioned in my first response my iPhone 5 had stopped showing text messages and I deleted the pairing as before to re-establish it and sort the texts out as before - problem is that it hasn't sorted it out this time

Does anyone else have an iPhone 5 and have the text function working? If so what did you to make it work?

Thanks

My previous car (Mercedes) automatically connected to any mobile phone which had previously been paired. My XC60 appears to default to which ever phone was last used and needs you to manually pick another paired phone in the list. Is this correct?

Appears to be the case and no way of giving the phones an order of priority.

Default iPhone 6?

I have a Nexus 4....running android 4.4.4. Keeps nagging me to upgrade to 5 (apparently no way to turn the nag off) but I'm sure that would break something on such an "old" phone.

Anyway, it connects just great with Stormy......
....but as a phone it freezes, reboots (especially when taking pictures) and therefore is driving me mad

I have the option for a "work" phone, which would be an iPhone 6.
Tempting....
But I can see at http://support.volvocars.com/uk/blue...luetooth1.aspx that it is not on the list of phones that Volvo say works well. Warning bells sound......

Anyone here got one working well with a recent XC60?

I figure Bluetooth is Bluetooth, and the basics (connection) *should* work just fine......but then again, this is Volvo and phones......

I have a nexus 4 which has upgraded to lollipop, it has made the phone less stable and slower at most things. Oh and the camera still crashes.

Just a thought, I used to have horrendous problems with my phone when connecting with my nissan. Switching off the media connection for the pairing used to fix this, strangely this currently works with no updates.
Obviously Bluetooth streaming is no longer possible but the phone may work.
