Default 2008 V50 indicators.

Hi there,

We have a 2008 V50 20D SE, the indicators stopped working today. Hazards working so bulbs are all ok. I have a 2002 V70 T5 and dread the same as it is usually the driver's information module.

If I press the stalk really, really hard they work, so I'm guessing the switch. If I fit a new switch will it require re-coding?

Many thanks.

Cheers Clan, is the switch a common failing part? I've had a quick look inside, it appears one of the"fingers" that touches the contacts appears shorter than the other two.

Dropping the car off at Harratts Volvo in the morning..... or should I risk a switch?

best let them sort it now, then if it isnt the switch you wont have to pay for one .Just tell them about pressing the switch hard makes them work

All sorted.

Car dropped off at Riverside Doncaster, who very politely read my long winded theory and carried out a diagnostic check confirming a duff switch.

They informed us that the car had also missed a couple of recalls ( washer pump, pipework and clutch master cylinder).

Recalls sorted, new switch fitted and a wash.

Thoroughly recommend Riverside, top friendly service and a very reasonable price.
