My isolator switch is in the switches below the heating controls, 2005 V70.

Yes, on mine that one is just a switch to turn off the parking assist when towing a trailer. As soon as the engine is switched off and on again it reverts to active. Rumour has it there is another switch somewhere in the boot area that disables the thing permanently, but I've not been able to find it....

The mystical hidden boot switch rings a bell. My parking sensors failed, I did find the switch but can't remember where it was. Probably the nearside in the jungle near the fuse box?

Has your rear wiper seized yet?

This is for 2001-2007 XC 70 from MY 2005 onwards.
Also states it needs software to be loaded, the earlier version did not.
It does need the park assist software to be installed in the car, if your car has park assist and it used to work ok, the software will still be there unless someone has uninstalled it with VIDA. The fact that you have a message "park assist service required" tells you the software is present.
This is different from coding a replacement park assist module - which is not needed.
Don't expect it to work with anything other than the correct part number, which I stated earlier & has just been confirmed by MDS40 on here.

Mystical or mythical? Nothing obvious in that area, I pulled the fuse some time ago but it made no difference. Still had the message.

Rear wiper motor was replaced a couple of years ago after it just packed in, but wasn't seized. Been ok since.

Well as it was all working fine up until it started playing up I'm assuming that the basics are all in place. Part numbers of the existing and the one I've ordered are identical so....fingers Xd..! Expected delivery end of next week but with the mail as it is who knows..

Excellent news, and thanks for the update. Useful information for other members when searching the forum.

You might have some, if not all, of your old sensors to sell to offset the cost of your efforts !

Yes it's tempting, but I think I'll hang on to them- you never know...

If I'd known how easy it is to replace the module I'd have done that first... Hey Ho, we live and etc etc..

"Hey Ho, we live and etc etc".

Indeed.

At least you skirted (relatively) around the Rabbit hole, without disappearing into madness.

I don't know what your replacement sensors cost, but that plus £28 is likely a very cost effective repair, and assuredly much less than a main dealer solution.

And you have some spare sensors as a garage filler !
