Having problems trying to get vida to work on my pc can any one can help shed a light on how to get it to work, thank you in advance

what version of windows are you running? and where did you get the VIDA from

are you running it directly on the OS or by using a virtual machine

this is the link I used:

for installing directly onto windows 10 with a VCX device (not a 'dice')

It does require knowing how to torrent for the downloads

It may/may not work with actual dice hardware, I can't answer that

It may or may not work with windows 11, also no idea sorry

I am using Windows 10 and I purchased it through the nett just the vida part not the dice that would be another stage lol down loaded it ok from an email link from the vendors website and extracted it no problem, but I am not ok with virtual machine

well without having a connection device yet (vcx/dice) it's hard to advise which version to go with

for now, if you're just using it as a reference tool (you can put in your VIN and look at part numbers / diagrams / workshop instructions) all I can suggest is putting whatever you downloaded away in a file in case you want to go back to it, uninstall whatever you did so far, forget virtual machines and just go with the link I added in above

scroll about halfway down (ignore all the VCX stuff) and find 'installing VIDA' and go from there

the links for torrent downloads are all at the bottom

to start with you should only need
VIDA2014D_RePack.ISO
2014A-B-D-2099.zip

the others aren't necessary just to get the software working

login username is 'admin'

if you don't know what a torrent is (sorry if this is sucking eggs) google search 'qbittorrent' and go to downloads, get that installed and everything else should be pretty straight forward


later on, if you do find a VCX, you can add the other bits to get that working with that software. I've seen people say that VCX can be iffy (and they don't work with VDash either) but I got one and it works without any fuss at all

some of the latest dice unit are vcx in a dice shell due to chip shortages . vida log in can also be 1. 2. 3. 4. aswell as admin.

Thank you Simmy for your suggestions, I downloaded btorrent as per Stuart but could not find the files to download not sure where to fo from here

join the vida dice user group on facebook plenty computer vida experts on there or contact vvde europe .

The files are linked right at the bottom of the instructions page linked above, you download a a tiny torrent file and load that up in the torrent software and it downloads the rest for you (in layman's terms)

Where that ends up on your pc depends how you set the torrent software up look in the options menu for download locations

After that is just a case of following the instructions step by step
