Hi JD1

Saw this on off chance, had same issues on my 940 estate drivers door, and sourced a used pair but no better.

Ended up taking the spare used hing apart, drifting out the pivot pin was easy enough.

Sourced something like this from eBay,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374104171...SABEgKMB_D_BwE

On mine the pin had a wear area at the upper end, using my micrometer the new bronze bushes were of slightly varying sizes, so ended up trial and error, method of trying each of the bushes to find the tightest fit into the holes in the hinge body.

I stripped and blasted mine, followed by and repainting as the colour was incorrect, so when painted I needed to use fridge and oven to make the parts easier to fit.

One slight issue I had was that the top hat bush had the 'rim' that was around twice as thick as needed to get the new bushes in the hinge. With suggestions from wonderful forum users the answer was to lightly mount the bush upside down in my drill chuck on my drill press, then use some 120 grit paper on a steel offcut and just sand the rim down to thickness needed.

Bit of a faff, but all worked for me, and now some 6 months or so door is ok and I no longer need to lift to open the door.

Good luck, hope you can sort yours out.

Cheers
Steve
