I have a cheap oxford motorcycle charger to keep my bike topped up when not in use but keep alternating it about between vehicles,

I use it on my xc90 at it can go a few weeks without moving sometimes, says smart charger but basically it just charges at that lower ampage that it will never over charge a battery especially not one that is still connected to a car,

Mate has a CTEK charger and when he had my skoda on his drive to do some bodywork on it and battery kept running down he put that on and it didn't seem to do much more than my oxford one even on recovery setting

I have one for my bike also, but it only charges at 0.5amp so I bought the car version which charges at 4 amp IIRC.
