XC60 D4 AWD (67 plate)
Hi - please forgive me if this has already been discussed and just point me in the right direction if it has...!
Before I stump up the money to put myself in an XC60 D4 AWD (i.e. the 2.4l, 5cyl, 188HP), Geartronic, 67 plate, I'd really welcome any thoughts about it's suitability for my use case. I do about 20,000 miles per year and the majority of these are three to six hour motorway drives, so comfort and safety are top of my list. Is the engine a good choice? Any issues anyone's aware of that I should check with the dealer? Thanks in advance for any comments. Nick |

Auto-box & adaptive cruise control are great for mile munching. I'm on my 2nd XC60 D5 First I did 25,000 miles in about 15months This one I've just done 10,000 in 5months

We've got a D4 2014 XC60 auto.
I find it extremely comfortable. We drove from the UK to Lake Garda in the summer with no comfort issues. The R-Design seats are one of the best I've experienced for comfort. |

As above - as a motorway mileage muncher they are awesome.

Thanks for the feedback. The model I'm looking at is the SE Lux Nav with Winter Pack. Out of interest, of those who have the D4 AWD Geartronic, what would you say is your realistic mpg?

Depending on how heavy your right foot is (obvs):
Town = c.30mpg Motorway @ 60mph = 45-50mpg; @ 65mph = 40-45mpg; @ 70mph = 35-40mpg I find the cruising speed makes a big difference to the mpg due to the boxy shape of the XC60. If you regularly do 80mph on the motorways, I wouldn't expect to see much higher than low 30's as an average with mixed-driving.

On my D5 with polestar I'm showing as 39.2mpg currently with an avg speed of 42.2
Last Reset of the Ave Speed & Fuel Consumption would have been about 8000 miles ago. Cruise is normally set at 75mph on motorways/dual Carriageways (A1M/A19) although the car does have occasional forays above that (Did 1000miles in Europe in July) The fuel figures are all taken from the On-Board system so not 100% accurate but will give you an idea. Tyre pressures set at Eco BTW
