I wiped all content from a usb, loaded the software and plugged it in to the car. I got an error message but just pressed the OK button, and it continued loading. I got an error message every so often, I assume after each section, but by pressing OK it continued and eventually completed loading and works fine.

Sensus Navigation Update failure
I have recently tried to update my Sensus Navigation on my 2016 Volvo V60 with no success. I downloaded the Europe version ( 31676577 dated 13/4/2018) to a brand new 32GB/fat32 USB 2.0 memory stick. The download finished OK but took over 5 hours.
I put this in the car and it asked me to confirm that I wanted to carry out the update. It then told me it would take 1 hour 40 minutes and started. After about 5 minutes a message appeared stating: Map update failed USB unreadable Exit to cancel I now have no navigation working it just says insert USB 1 and if I do I get the same above scenario. I remembered that there was an option on the download site to check the USB download so I tried this. The result was a message: Selected USB does not contain the latest version. There is an information file on the USB stick as part of the download. When I read this it tells me that the version is 31676577 dated 13/4/2018. I have tried again with another USB stick and get the same result. Anyone got any ideas what to try next? |

Problem with this is that my SAT nav in the car is no longer working and I have no idea when the next update will be released.

Success
Having failed on two occasions with two different new USB 32GB 2.0 memory sticks I decided to have another go.
This time I purchased a Kingston 32GB DataTravler50 USB 3.0 memory stick and downloaded the map update. The download took over 5 hours but finished Ok with no reported errors. I then proceeded to start the download program again and ran the check USB program on the new download. This also finished ok. Previously this step had reported an error (selected USB does not contain the latest version). I put the USB into the car and after a couple of journeys the update was successful. I can only conclude that some USB sticks do not work correctly with large files or is it that I used a USB 3.0 memory stick this time instead of a USB 2.0. I will be reserving this memory stick for future updates. |

Map update failed.
I now have a 2015 XC70 and have just updated the maps - below is my experience.
I formatted the 32G stick to FAT32 - downloaded the software onto the memory stick. Put the stick in the car and started the upload . After about 10 mins the message 'Map Update failed - USB unreadable - Exit to cancel' As this was my first attempt and only having had the car a month - I tried again and had the same result. The following day I downloaded the map software again, then verified the download before attempting an upload for the second time. The same happened but I kept trying and realised that the upload was progressing. Eventually, after about 2 hours (mostly sat in the car so that every time the error appeared I could just hit 'Exit') the update finished. It appears to be very 'hit and miss' with some saying download to pc then copy to memory stick, others saying download to stick etc etc. From this thread it appears that I am not the only one who has difficulty in updating the maps.

Well .. Good news, I also had problems with updating Navi, that was with me so that it always showed me "Navigation Starts" but it did not work ... so I then have someone from another USB stick 64GB ( Sandisk) get, since I first had it formatted, I then let install ex. the map of Israel on it, which had only 3GB and in 5 minutes it was installed (why that? Because the navi was completely blocked and I wanted the new one European map which did not work to delete or change it somehow and then to try again with the European map and it worked that way). then you can format the USB stick again and install the European maps on it again (I have first installed on computer and then I have copied the stick) .. in 1h 40min it was installed in my car and it went .. that motor must stay on. and what else was synonymous with me so that the dvd / usb no longer works and I have reset the manufacturer settings then it went again
