It tends to be driven fairly gently on local trips. What's the point in going fast I thought on such trips (I don't hold anyone up at all though).

I drive too fast on longer trips. Faster than most.

I rarely have used the sport mode or the shift paddles. I did that today to get past a speeding truck, Wow, wow, wow. I think I'll always drive in sport mode from now !

But that's the beauty of the V60P*. Spends most of the time as a 'standard' ole Volvo Estate until you decide to prod it ;-)

I'v found that in sport mode it's better using the paddles as the way the gearbox is programmed doesn't always suit my way of driving it with purpose. I find it smoother with the paddles, but you need to plan ahead as you can easily find yourself in the wrong gear in auto which can be exacerbated when you then use the paddles to put it into manual. I hope that mostly makes sense.

Remind me - you got the 4cl or 6cl as the gearbox in the 4cl is better in any event.

Still brings a smile to my face every time I start it up.

I have the 6 cylinder one; in sport mode/ using the paddles it's just like any high performance car with a 6 speed manual gearbox; better in fact, as the changes are quicker. The 6 cylinder sounds pretty nice in sport mode, never driven a 4 cylinder one so I can't really compare the two.

I've tested the 4cl, the gearbox is better but the 6cl engine (on a lot of levels) is much better IMHO. Overall, I'm glad I have the 6 and won't be trading it in anytime soon. That engine noise is addictive..

Think I may be the most boring Polestar'd XC60 driver. Polestar sorted the auto gearbox into a sweet device that Volvo should have released the car with. Having said that, every now and then one gets the urge to press on and shifting the gear lever into sport and positive pressure of the right foot gives great results!
