1999 V70XC 2.4T 193 bhp Manual
Price £2500
Hi I am selling my rare V70XC, I bought the car locally from a guy who is a manager at a local hospital,he owned the car for approx 7 years but hardly ever used it in that time as he had a company car. I am the fourth owner on the car and bought it on a whim really as I needed a car to tow our caravan, I have a company car estate as my daily so in reality the Volvo is going to be parked up most of the time. So my wife has talked me into advertising the car, although quite happy for it not to sell so i can keep So about the car:- Volvo V70XC, these are becoming extremely rare, and will no doubt become a classic in the near future. Volvo V70 XC - 1st Generation Cross Country launched in 1996. 1999 2.4 Turbo 5 cylinder 20V 193BHP - excellent sounding engine, real world MPG can return 30mpg on a run, around town I am averaging 22-24mpg. AWD Mot March 2019 4 x new tires on original 15" alloy wheels in excellent condition - I also have some Volvo Comet wheels that the buyer is welcome to have as part of the sale. The interior is in fantastic shape, the cloth seats are very comfortable and offer great support. Front heated seats Dual Climate control, the air con works great and is nice and cold. Central Locking - works without any issues Electric Sunroof, Cruise Control, Tow bar with twin electrics, I have used the car once to tow my new caravan from Rotherham to Preston over the M62, it didn't miss a beat and towed fantastically well. The car has extensive service history and has been cherished by previous owners, Recent work carried out in 2017 includes Cylinder Head re-conditioned (Weir Street Blackburn) with new head gasket, including Timing belt, Water pump & Thermostat ( £1100 bill) - the previous owner had the work carried out, he said it was due to the PCV failing, which was also replaced. New front discs and pads and caliper kits at last MOT (£700) New PCV valve (£225) The tracking has been done recently and the car drives true and straight without any pulling etc. It has been serviced regularly and starts first crank of the key everytime and purrs wonderfully. It uses no oil or water. Clutch and release bearing where replaced approx 10k ago. The body work is in great shape, there is hardly any rust whatsoever - only a small blister on passenger door that I can see. There is a small crack to the right of the tow bar on the bottom section of bumper (see pic) The ABS has started to randomly kick in, I have diagnosed it as the n/s exciter ring on the driveshaft, this will be fixed at the weekend. As I have order a new set. The drivers door card has a few marks on it, at some point it has been riveted where the door pocket is. Th paintwork looks to be all original, although the bumper grey, mudflaps and side trims have been painted, it has started to flake a little on the front mudflaps, my plan was to paint black and colour code. Lovely rare car, any viewing and test drive welcomed. Private plate included in sale. The car failed with the head gasket in around 2015 I believe and the car was parked up until around 2017 until it was fixed. So looking at the MOT history there are some missing for 2015/2016, Clearly the car is not a new car and does has some areas of wear and tear, but I think overall for a 20 year old car it is a nice example. I'm in Preston Lancashire, viewings and test drives welcome. 46185116_1923458927730251_614429392776462336_n.jpg 46087005_205176327045025_7417092230210387968_n - Copy.jpg 46134617_1700148476758459_1685065942536552448_n.jpg 46151034_121264352092256_8216343119524790272_n.jpg 46142977_2438742286141122_2760426402271461376_n.jpg Last edited by V70Moss; Nov 20th, 2018 at 06:51. |
